In the early production stages of The Wolverine, there was the possibility of Darren Aronofsky directing the film, before the job went to James Mangold. Hugh Jackman had worked with Aronofsky before on The Fountain (2006). The Australian actor discusses the visions each director had for the Canadian superhero.

Jackman explains the tough decision they had to make in terms of rating the movie. He added that if The Wolverine should end up with an R-rating, there must be a compelling reason for it.

Hugh also addresses his criticism on X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
